The famous city and county town for education is Oxford. The city is located in the South eastern Part of England. The population of the city is around 165,000. Two famous rivers Thames and Cherwell run through the heart of the city and finally meet at the southern tip of the city centre.
Oxford is famous for the University and the standard of its education. It is the oldest English university in the world. The county is inhabited by the Saxons and their buildings showcase the traditional British architecture with a blend of the age old British heritage. The city of Oxford is also known as the city of dreaming spires.
The city lies at the maritime climatic belt. The area is highly influenced by the Atlantic winds, which results in a mild and comfortable climate through out the year. There are numerous tourist attractions in and around the city like the Church of St Mary the Virgin and the tower of Carfax.
