There are many places of historic interest with a culture rich in tradition and legacy.

There is the famous cologne cathedral that draws millions of visitors every day to its shrine. It is untouched by the moving generations and revives long last traditions. The king’s castle and Heidelberg castle are two important historic places and is such a delight to watch across the mountains. Shopping in the streets of the city square resemble the olden days barter shops with antiques and memoirs. A more of a lively landscape along the Alps invites fresh breeze around the black forest and ancient towers around the ruined cities. Berlin and Munich have inviting corridors to reconnect to the past and unravel a mystery surround by history and the early art nouveau period. It is truly a paradise and offers a rich experience.

Following this civilization, there came the Minoan (2600-1500 BC), the Mycenaean (1500-1150 BC) and the Cycladic civilizations.

Greek history is then an endless journey of power and supremacy, through a maze of wars, invasions and battles. The Macedonians formed a strong dynasty, but were overthrown by the Romans. The Byzantine Empire took over Rome and held sway till they were invaded by the Turks.

The Turkish Empire was a strong one, though it was a black age for the population, who gradually began to revolt to gain independence. A long Independence war ensued – that began in 1821 and lasted till 1829 – helped in establishing the independent Greek State.

Greece, however, was not free from its battles yet. The World War I, the Greco-Turkish War, and the League of Nations as well as the World War II and the Greek Civil War all spotted the history of Greece. It was only after the restoration of the Greek democracy that the historical graph of this beautiful and ancient state has stabilized.
