Agra, one of the most majestic cities of the medieval era is home to one of the greatest man made marvels of the modern world. Located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Agra is about 200 km from the capital of India. The word Taj is synonymous to the city of Agra. You cannot imagine Agra without the splendor and the beauty of Taj. Taj, one of the wonders of the world is what defines the city if Agra.
Taj Mahal was made in the 17th century by the Mughal Shah Jahan in memory of his beautiful wife, Mumtaj Mahal. History has it that it took the emperor 20 years to complete one of the greatest marvels of that time. Close to 20,000 workers worked day in and out to create this majestic structure.
The best time to visit the city of Agra is in the winter from October to March.
